Our Parents Messed Us Up

In this part of the world, people mostly believe violence is the answer; a little thing and they are already balling up their fists. This also applies to parenting. One of their favorite phrase from the Bible is “spare the rod and spoil the child”, and when they are not physically assaulting their children, they are aggressive with their words.

After listening to Ko-jo cue’s Dua, you will get a bigger picture of what I am talking about. Though I didn’t understand the language he rapped in, I could still pick up some things, especially when he says “see the way my poppy they advice, breaking me down, how I go rise?” It just shows how our parents, had in countless occasions, tried to destroy our self esteem and mess us up. I hope we understand this because their time has passed and not make the same mistake they made.
