With three games left to the end of the premier league season, the top four competing teams; Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, file out this weekend to make their season count for Europe’s elite league, the Champions League, next season. With the top 2 settled between Manchester City and Liverpool, the rest will have to fight it out to the very end.
Tottenham Hotspurs kicked off the weekend by squaring off against West Ham United, as they got their ass whooped for the first time in their new stadium, from a second half strike for West Ham’s forward, Michel Antonio.
Another North London club, Arsenal, continued the trend as they fell like a pack of cards against Leicester City. From the very blast of the whistle, the home team, Leicester City, played with more determination, mounting pressure on Arsenal, resulting in a red card for Maitland-Niles. In the second half, the goals came rushing in on Arsenal as they ended up conceding three goals and registering none.
Then came Manchester United and Chelsea, both teams squaring off in Old Trafford. The game started with United playing with more spirit, and they got their consolation through a perfectly worked goal between Lukaku, Shaw and Mata, who buried brilliantly from the intelligent play. Just before the end of the game, David DE Gea spilled a long range shot from Rudiger that slipped nicely to the path of Marcos Alonso who buried it with finesse.
It’s safe to say the Premier league leaves us with so much excitement all week in and out, as this race will be on till the end of the season.
